Caramelized Banana French Toast
This French toast is super sweet and addictive! The banana caramelizes on the outside of the bread making a delicious caramel crust! It is also made with simple and wholesome ingredients!

- 1 Banana
- 1 cup Plant Milk I used almond but any plant milk will do
- ½ tsp Vanilla
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ¼ tsp Nutmeg
- ½ tbsp Nutritional Yeast
- 1 tsp Maple Syrup
- 4-5 Large slices of a thick, dense bread
Start by mashing a banana in a shallow bowl that is big enough to fit your bread into.
Add in the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Dunk your bread in the banana batter for 10 seconds on each side ensuring it is well covered. Make sure you are using a thick and dense bread otherwise the French toast will be soggy. Sandwich bread is not ideal for this recipe. I used a gluten free bread and it worked perfectly!
Pan fry on medium heat for a few minutes on each side until golden and delicious.
Add toppings like coconut whip cream, fresh fruit, maple syrup or coconut flakes and enjoy!
