What ingredients do I need for my microwave apple crumble

  • Apple
  • Maple Syrup
  • Cinnamon
  • Cornstarch
  • Oats
  • Almond Flour
  • Oat Flour
  • Plant Milk

How to make my microwave apple crumble

This easy microwave apple crumble is so simple you will want to make it every day!

Chop you apples. Chop up your apples into small cubes then toss them in some maple syrup, cinnamon and cornstarch! The cornstarch will help absorb some of the liquid so the apples are not too soggy!

Transfer your apples into a small ramekin that is microwave/oven safe depending on how you want to cook it!

Make your crumble. Add your oats, oat flour, almond flour, plant milk & maple syrup into a small bowl and mix until combined.

Top your apples with your crumble and don’t worry if the crumble goes above the ramekin. While cooking the apples will shrink and the crumble will lower into the ramekin.

Cook your healthy apple crumble in either the microwave or in the oven. If microwaving, cook for 2-3 minutes depending on how strong your microwave is. I cooked mine for 3 minutes. If using the oven bake at 350f for 25 minutes until the top is slightly golden.

This apple crumble is the best healthier alternative to apple crumble! It is refined sugar free, dairy free and made with whole foods! This crumble is so healthy you can eat it for breakfast! To make this recipe healthier we replace the butter with almond flour for a source of healthy fats and sub refined sugar with maple syrup. There is also a ton of fiber in this healthy apple crumble and it is packed with heart healthy whole grains from the oats!

Bake your crumble in the oven! I love using the microwave because it is so quick and easy but if you want to use the oven simply bake for 25 minutes at 350f until the top is slightly golden!

Make your microwave apple crumble without oats. You can use any of your favorite flour for this recipe. Replace the oats and oat flour with equal parts of almond or coconut flour for a completely grain free version!

Top with your favorite vegan ice cream! Apple crumble and ice cream are the best combo! You can use your favorite vegan vanilla ice cream or make a nice cream by blending up some bananas with a splash of plant milk to make banana ice cream, or nice cream, as it is commonly referred to as!

Don’t want to use maple syrup? No worries, any liquid or granulated sugar will do! If you want to make this healthy apple crumble even healthier try adding in some date paste as your sweetener! – try my date paste recipe here!

Use any kind of plant milk! Any plant milk will work for this recipe! Or if you are out of plant milk just add water!

Swap the cornstarch for tapioca starch. It will work the same! The starch help keeps the apples from becoming too watery, it is not an absolute must but it is recommended!

  • Dice your apple into small cubes then mix in a small bowl with cinnamon, maple syrup and cornstarch until the apples are full coated.
  • Transfer the apples into a small microwave/oven safe dish.
  • Mix the crumble ingredients in a separate bowl then add it on top of the apple layer.
  • Microwave for 2-3 minutes, I put min in for 3 minutes.
  • If using the oven bake at 350f for 25 minutes until the top is golden.
  • Top with vegan vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
