Recipe Tips for Date Snickers Bars
- Use juicy fresh Medjool dates – They taste much better and have more of a candy texture and caramel taste. The dates should be soft and squishy. Avoid hard dates with white veins. This indicated they are not as fresh.
- Use natural peanut butter without added sugar.
- Use vegan chocolate chips: Make sure to check that the chocolate chips are vegan! Many semi-sweet chocolate chips are vegan, make sure to check the ingredients. Or you can use dark chocolate.
- Can I Omit the coconut oil – Yes, you can omit. It will not alter the taste, it just makes the chocolate smooth and shiny!
- Swap peanut butter for almond butter or cashew butter
- Swap peanuts: While I adore the classic combination of peanuts and peanut butter, experiment with other nuts like almonds or cashews.
- Storage: Store these date Snicker bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Allow the bars to sit at room temperature for a few minutes before enjoying.
