Why You’ll Love This High Protein French Toast Recipe

Protein Packed Dessert – Thanks to chocolate protein powder as the star ingredient, each bite of this high-protein french toast recipe packs a nutritional punch to keep you feeling full and energized throughout the morning. Each serving has 26g of protein, but you’d never believe it based on how delicious it tastes!

Dairy-Free Snacking – Unlike traditional French toast recipes that rely on eggs and milk for protein, this recipe adopts a dairy-free approach. Instead, soy milk provides the same richness and texture as classic French toast without dairy dilemma, while also adding in some extra protein!

Natural Sweetness – It’s time to bid farewell to those overly sugary and carb-laden snacks. This recipe opts for monk fruit sugar and maple syrup for natural sweetness. A natural low-calorie sweetener 150-200 times sweeter than sugar, monk fruit helps you lower your excessive sugar and carbohydrate intake.

Crowd-Pleasing Snack or Dessert – Whether you’re serving them as a delightful breakfast treat, a Sunday brunch, a satisfying midday snack, or a decadent dessert, these high-protein French toast bites will surely be a hit with friends and family. Their bite-sized servings make them perfect for sharing, and their irresistible trio of chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla ensures they’ll disappear quickly, leaving everyone craving more.

Recipe Tips for High Protein French Toast Bites

Make it Soy-free: To make soy-free high protein french toast bites, swap out the soy milk in the batter for almond milk or any other plant-based milk of your choice.

Make it Gluten-free: To make this recipe gluten free, simply use your favourite gluten free bread!

Use Sturdy Bread: Opt for sturdy bread like whole grain or multigrain, which holds well to dipping and frying. Avoid overly soft or thinly sliced bread, as it may become soggy when soaked in French toast batter.

Don’t Skip the Cinnamon Sugar: This is where everyone truly falls for these French toast bites. Rolling the cooked French toast bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture enhances the sweetness, giving them a heavenly crunchy texture and churro-like flavor. Definitely, I don’t recommend skipping this step.

Get Creative with Dipping Sauces: While the chocolate sauce dip is a delicious option, feel free to get creative with your dipping sauces. For a fun twist, try serving these french toast bites with PBfit peanut butter or sugar-free fruit preserves.

Omit the Protein Powder: Not a fan of protein? No worries! You can stuff these with my healthy chocolate sauce recipe in the recipe card below! Just add less plant milk so it is more of a spreadable consistency!
