How to make pesto hummus
This basil pesto hummus is SO simple to make, you will be snacking in less than 10 minutes!
First gather your ingredients and a high speed blender. I like to use my Vitamix to make hummus. It is super powerful and blends through everything to produce the creamiest hummus!
Add all of your ingredients into your blender and blend until completely smooth!
Once blended spread your hummus onto a plate and top with some freshly chopped basil, extra pine nuts, and a drizzle of olive oil and enjoy!

Make it oil free! You can easily make your pesto hummus oil free by swapping the olive oil for extra cold water.
Make it nut free! To make your pesto hummus dip oil free omit the pine nuts and add in some extra tahini. You could also swap the pine nuts for sunflower seeds.
Don’t skip on the ice! The ice makes the hummus ultra creamy and airy! Trust me and try it you’ll never want to make hummus without ice ever again!
Use a different bean! White Beans would work well in place of chickpeas in this pesto hummus recipe, although you could use another type of bean as well!
How to serve your pesto hummus
As a dip or spread! This hummus is perfect for sharing! You can dip with warm pita, crackers, carrots, celery, or whatever your favorite dipper may be!
For a pesto hummus pasta! This hummus is AMAZING as a pasta sauce! It is so creamy and rich and perfect to lather on some whole wheat pasta!

Ingredients
- 1 14oz can Chickpeas
- ⅓ cup Pine Nuts
- 1½ cup Basil
- Juice of 1.5 Lemons
- 1 clove Garlic
- 2 tbsp Tahini
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2-3 tbsp Cold Water
- ¼ cup Nutritional Yeast
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 Ice Cubes
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients and a high speed blender or food processor.
- Add all of the ingredients into your blender and blend until completely smooth.
- Add more salt as needed to taste.
- Enjoy as a dip, spread, or use it as a pasta sauce!
