Prepare the Espresso

Make your strong double espresso, and if you prefer a strong coffee flavour, add 1 tsp of instant coffee to the espresso.

Blend Everything Together

Add your espresso to your food processor and blend until everything comes together. It should form a large sticky ball.

Recipe Tips for Tiramisu Protein Balls

Make it nut-free: If you have nut allergies, swap the almond butter with sunflower seed butter or tahini to make nut-free tiramisu protein balls.

Use soft, fresh Medjool dates: Soak them in warm water for 10 to 15 minutes before blending if your dates are dry or firm. This helps them blend more easily and ensures your protein balls have a smooth, chewy texture.

Choose a protein powder you love: The flavour of your protein powder will impact the final taste. Go for a vanilla or chocolate plant-based protein to complement the coffee and cacao flavours.

Don’t over-blend: Blend just until the mixture forms a sticky ball. Over-blending can cause the mixture to become too oily or tough to roll.

Wet your hands for easy rolling: To prevent sticking, lightly dampen your hands before rolling the mixture into balls. It makes the process quicker and mess-free.
