How to make vegan ranch crispy chickpeas

For this recipe we are making our crispy chickpeas in the air fryer! I have tried making these in the oven before and it does not compare to the texture that the air fryer achieves! Click here for the air fryer I use!

Strain your chickpeas: The first step is to strain your chickpeas and shake off any excess liquid. There is no need to rinse, although you can if you want to rinse off the extra salt that canned chickpeas are normally stored in.

Make them Crispy: Add your chickpeas into your air fryer and cook for 10-15 minutes at 400 degrees until golden. If you do not have an air fryer you can also bake them at 400 degrees for 30 minutes tossing halfway through. However, I do find that they tend to be drier when cooked in the oven.

Season to Perfection: Once your chickpeas are golden and crispy add them to a bowl, drizzle with olive oil and add in your seasoning! Toss well to combine and enjoy!

Some tips from Steph

Using home cooked chickpeas. You can use either canned or homecooked chickpeas either will work great!

Use an Air Fryer. I have tried this crispy chickpeas snack both in the oven and in the air fryer and the air fryer produces a much nicer result. I find in the oven they burn easily and become more dry.

Season after you cook your chickpeas. Make sure you add your seasoning on after the chickpeas are cooked. If you add them on before cooking all the spices will burn off. You can also remove the chickpeas a few minutes before cooking, toss then return to the air fryer for a few more minutes!

Make it oil free. If you are oil free you can save some aquafaba (the chickpea water) and use that instead!
