How to make easy vegan mac and cheese

This mac and cheese recipe is so easy you’ll be eating in under 10 minutes!

Mix your dry sauce: Start by mixing your dry ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined. Then add in your plant milk and maple syrup and mix again.

Start your pasta: Make sure your pasta is boiling at this point as the sauce only takes about 5 minutes on the stove top!

Thicken your sauce: Add your sauce mixture into a pan over medium heat and mix continuously for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Add in your pasta. Once the sauce has thickened add in your pasta along with some reserved pasta water and mix well until combined.

Swap the tapioca starch for cornstarch if you do not have any!

Make it gluten free by using a gluten free pasta! The sauce is already naturally gluten free!

For a more rich cheesy flavor melt in some vegan cheese!

You can use regular flour in place of gluten free flour if you do not need the sauce to be gluten free.

Serve with some cooked broccoli, mix in some fresh spinach and add some vegan sausage for a high protein option!

This mac and cheese is so creamy and delicious you won't believe it only takes 10 minutes to make! The sauce is gluten free, oil free and vegan and it tastes just like a vegan Kraft dinner, but much healthier! This sauce is a must try!

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g Pasta of Choice I used macaroni
  • ¾ cup Nutritional Yeast
  • 3 tbsp Gluten Free Flour or regular flour
  • tbsp Tapioca Flour
  • 2 tsp Onion Powder
  • ½ tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • tsp Turmeric for color
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 cups Plant Milk
  • 2 tsp Maple Syrup

Instructions
 

  • Start by boiling your water and adding in your pasta. The sauce does not take long to make.
  • Mix your dry ingredients in a large bowl with a whisk. Add in the plant milk and maple syrup and mix again.
  • Pour the sauce in a sauce pan and cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it thickens.
  • Strain the pasta and add it to your sauce along with some reserved pasta water.
  • Serve as is or add in some broccoli, spinach or vegan sausage!
