How to make cashew matcha butter

Roast your cashews: The first step in making your matcha butter is roasting your cashews in the oven. Pop them in for about 10 minutes until they are slightly golden. This will make a big difference in taste! You can also buy your cashews pre-roasted, however make sure that there is no added oil or salt on the ingredient list!

Blend baby blend: After your cashews have roasted and slightly cooled, add them into a high speed blender or food processor and blend until smooth. I use my Vitmaix for everything and it works great for this recipe! Here is the one I use!

Add the rest. Once you have turned your cashews into cashew butter it’s time to add in the matcha, salt, maple syrup and vanilla. You can just add in the matcha if you’d like to make this recipe salt and sugar free!

What is matcha

Matcha is the finely ground powder or specially grown and processed tea leaves. It has a bright, earthy and slightly bitter taste and is used in drinks, lattés and more. It has about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee, however the effects tend to be much more long lasting and energizing compared to coffee. Matcha is also very high in antioxidants, boosts brain function, promotes heart health and may even help prevent cancer!

How to eat your matcha butter

This delicious matcha spread is seriously so good you can eat it right off the spoon, I did that for a good chunk of the jar, it is seriously addictive. It also tastes great on some toast with fresh fruit and coconut shreds!

You can store your matcha butter in an air tight jar or container on the counter for up to 1 month, if it lasts that long!
