Firecracker Tofu with Crispy Rice Paper Wrapping
I first saw this firecracker tofu recipe on TikTok made with salmon and I knew I had the veganize it! This is a game changer for those of you who don’t like tofu! It is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and served with a sesame soy dipping sauce! The pan seared tofu is wrapped in a crispy rice paper and stuffed with avocado, jalapeno and green onion! Such a fun way to eat your tofu!
What ingredients do I need for my firecracker tofu?
- Rice Paper
- Extra Firm Pressed Tofu
- Coconut Aminos
- Green Onions
- Avocado
- Jalapeno
How to make firecracker tofu
Press your tofu. Make sure to press your tofu to release the liquid so it can absorb all that delicious flavor! You can do this by using a tofu press or by wrapping your tofu in a kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top. Press for at least 15 minutes.
Season & Cook you tofu. Rub on some coconut aminos then pan fry your tofu in some olive oil until golden on all sides.
Assemble your firecracker tofu by wetting a sheet of rice paper then adding some avocado, green onion, jalapeno and your seared tofu. Wrap then pan fry in some olive oil until all sides are crispy.
Make the sesame soy dip by mixing everything together in a bowl, dip and enjoy!

As a finger food. This firecracker tofu is the perfect shareable appetizer. It’s great for dipping and pretty light so you will still have an appetite for dinner!
Use it for tacos! You can use it to stuff tacos or burritos or make some firecracker tofu lettuce wraps!

Firecracker Tofu with Crispy Rice Paper Wrapping
Ingredients
For the Firecracker Tofu
- 8 sheets Rice Paper
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil for frying
- 1 block Extra Firm Pressed Tofu
- 3 tbsp Coconut Aminos
- 3 stalks Green Onions
- 1 Jalapeno
- ¾ Avocado
For the Sesame Soy Dip
- 3 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame Oil
- 1 tsp Rice Wine Vinegar
- ¾ tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 2 tbsp Chopped Cilantro
Instructions
- Press your tofu using a tofu press or by wrapping your tofu in a kitchen towel and placing a heavy object on top. This will help release the liquid so the tofu can absorb more flavor.
- Slice your tofu into rectangles then coat in coconut aminos.
- Pan fry your tofu until all sides are golden then set aside.
- Wet your rice paper then assemble your firecracker tofu. Place your avocado, green onions, jalapeno and seared tofu in the middle of your rice paper and wrap tightly.
- Pan fry in some olive oil until all sides are crispy.
- Mix your dip in a small bowl and enjoy!
