Optional Toppings

Fresh Herbs (Parsley, Dill, or Chives)

These fresh herbs add a burst of colour, and herby flavour to your dip. Parsley adds a slightly peppery taste, while dill brings a delicate, anise-like flavour. Chives provide a mild oniony kick. Chop them finely and sprinkle them over the dip for a beautiful finishing touch.

Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds are a popular choice for garnishing dips. They add a delightful crunch and a hint of nuttiness to your Butterbean Beet Dip. Toast the sesame seeds lightly for an even richer flavour, then sprinkle them generously over the top.

Drizzle of olive oil

Add olive oil for a rich flavor.

Recipe Tips and Variations

Variety of Dippers: While pita chips are a classic choice, don’t hesitate to get creative with your dippers. Try carrot sticks, cucumber slices, bell pepper strips, or whole wheat crackers for a diverse snacking experience.

Flavor Variations: While boiled beets work well, use roasted beets for a deeper flavour profile.

Prep Ahead: You can prepare pita chips a day ahead and store them in an airtight container. It’s an excellent time-saving hack.

Chill Time: For the finest flavor, refrigerate the dip for an hour or two before serving. This allows the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Pita Chip Variations: Spice up your pita chips with a sprinkle of your favorite seasonings like rosemary, garlic powder, or za’atar.

For a creamy texture: Add ice cubes for a creamier and hummus-like texture.

Time-Saving Tip: Save time by using pre-cooked beets found in the produce section of most grocery stores.

Storage Tip: Dip Storage: If you have any leftover Butterbean Beet Dip, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 3 days.
