How to make crispy tofu wings

These crispy tofu wings are made in an air fryer for ultimate crispiness! I recently got my air fryer and let me tell you I am OBSESSED! I use it for absolutely everything! It makes everything so crispy in half the time!

Press your tofu. First start by pressing your tofu. You can use a tofu press or wrap your tofu in a kitchen towel and place a heavy object on top for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Make your batter. Next make the batter by combining the plant milk, cornstarch and flax. Mix well then let it sit for 10 minutes. The cornstarch will help the tofu crisp up and the flax will help the batter stick to the tofu!

Dunk the tofu in your batter then into a bowl of breadcrumbs and coat completely.

Air fry your breaded tofu for 15 minutes at 400 degrees flipping halfway though. If you do not have an air fryer you can also bake at 400f for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Toss your crispy tofu wings in any sauce you’d like! I love using Frank’s Red Hot but any sauce will do!

Make your tofu crispier by making smaller or thinner pieces of tofu. The smaller the tofu is the more crispy it will be. Just keep in mind this may alter the cooking time!

Make it gluten free! This recipe can easily be made gluten free by using gluten free breadcrumbs!

Make sure your breadcrumbs are vegan! Check the ingredients to make sure they don’t contain milk or eggs!

Use an air fryer for ultimate crispiness. Serious air fryers are game changers I don’t know how I lived this long without one! Here is the one I use!

Mix up the flavor! You can use any sauce on the wings you’d like! Try a vegan honey garlic sauce (using maple syrup instead), a lemon pepper sauce, or a BBQ sauce!
